Monday Morning BLURB

As Canada contemplates allowing non Canadian Citizens into the military. Our UK alliesare targeting frustrated youth in an ad campaign.

As for Canada I personally see no problem with enlisting non Canadian Citizens. I was a non Canadian as were many of my Peers,  Limey Williams, George Davies, Rolf Kahle, Scotty Moore spring to mind. There were thousands of Non Canadian Citizens in the Canadian Military. including many Dutch Fellas, George Zondervan, John Brinkmann spring to mind.

NONE of those mentioned brought any disgrace nor dishonour to the Canadian Military. In fact TRUDEAU senior forced in 1969 many members of the military to obtain Canadian Citizenship. by passing an order via the CDS. No military member will be eligible for promotion courses if they are NOT Citizens?

Anyway I came across this strange but very interesting story:

On that note please give a prayer and a thought for Canada’s peacekeepers in MALI or enroute to Mali.

Red FRIDAY ….Remember Everyone Deployed

Well as Ontario Turns BLUE once more, I seriously wonder what the Federal Liberals will do with regard to Housing Homeless Vets.

Veteran Affairs Minister Seamus O’Regan ( TV breakfast show host )during an interview in his office on Parliament Hill in Ottawa in 2017. Documents obtained by The Canadian Press show the federal government wants to pay for the construction of affordable housing units as part of the latest push to house the country’s homeless veterans. Ibelieve the  KEY WORDS are   “Liberals LOOK ” Looking is still not the same as    “BUILDING”

I recently found this Canadian Site  with regard to Military News articles.

Check it out  there seems to be varying responses from both Veterans and Joe PUBLIC. Including one story that Canada does not REQUIRE a Military that is armed? Where is that writer living in LaLa Land ?  Certainly not the World I live in.

In answer to the person who  complained about my Blog of Remembrance for D Day…..get a life  those men and women died to give you your freedom of expression.

Always  teach your Children of the Sacrifices paid by the Military. not only paying the ultimate price, but daily separation from Families.

      Before and After 74 Years apart, this home survived the D Day Landings  on JUNO Beach 6   June 1944,    Today 6 June 2018 it represents CANADA as  a home and small museum to the Queen’s Own Rifles of Canada.    


74 Years ago President Franklin Delano Roosevelt gave up this PRAYER for the US and allied forces, who were in the midst of D Day.

“For these men are lately drawn from the ways of peace. They fight not for the lust of conquest. They fight to end conquest. They fight to liberate. They fight to let justice arise, and tolerance and good will among all Thy people. ”

My fellow Americans: Last night, when I spoke with you about the fall of Rome, I knew at that moment that troops of the United States and our allies were crossing the Channel in another and greater operation. It has come to pass with success thus far.
And so, in this poignant hour, I ask you to join with me in prayer:
Almighty God: Our sons, pride of our Nation, this day have set upon a mighty endeavor, a struggle to preserve our Republic, our religion, and our civilization, and to set free a suffering humanity.
Lead them straight and true; give strength to their arms, stoutness to their hearts, steadfastness in their faith.
They will need Thy blessings. Their road will be long and hard. For the enemy is strong. He may hurl back our forces. Success may not come with rushing speed, but we shall return again and again; and we know that by Thy grace, and by the righteousness of our cause, our sons will triumph.

Let us pray and hope that our soldiers, sailors and airmen are safe and sound wherever they may be Serving.

Red Friday …..0ne week till D Day 74th Anniversary.

74 Years ago this weekend, Canadians and their allies were, gearing up and practicing, their military skills.  Men and women from small town, farm and big cities were preparing to be part of the Largest Ever Seaborne Invasion.

6 June 1944, a day that many remember.

I have been prud in my life to have visited the Juno Beach Landing area in 1964, 1994 and in deed in 2014. I shall endeavour to pay my respects once more in 2019 the 75th Anniversary of D Day.

Many  Canadians and allies  were never to return to their homeland. We shall Remember them.

Acts of Bravery, Heroism and indeed Compassion were carried out in the days following the Mass Invasion to FREE Europe from the hands of Adolf Hitler and his Nazi Party of Evil.

There have been countless Books, articles, etc about D Day and the impact that it had on the world. But today I share with you a Blog from a young Mother far too young to have been around in WW2.

On that note please have a thought and a prayer for our Veterans, Our Serving Military and their Military Families.
